Cancer Warriors, Unite!

I want to make something beautiful with you...

My wife was recently diagnosed with complicated breast cancer. The journey ahead of us is long and hard, and just beginning, but I have seen first-hand in her the transformation into a warrior. Someone trying to fight against a horrible illness. Fighting to be here for the ones she loves. I've also experienced, in my own way, the kind of fighting spirit it takes to be the support person for someone with cancer. I'm trying to be a warrior myself. It's hard, but it's easier when we fight together.

I recently shared our struggles with my YouTube audience, and the response of love, kindness, generosity and vulnerability has blown us away and filled me with gratitude and love for you all. That love has turned into a song, which I am hopeful might help some people out there fighting a similar fight as us.

I'm calling on anyone who's in this fight, who's fought against cancer and won, or who knows someone whose lost their battle and want to show solidarity and love for others in the fight. I'd like to invite as many of you as are willing to be a part of the final chorus - the more voices, the better. You don't need to be talented, feel pretty, or have any special equipment - you just need to be the fighter you are, and be willing to be vulnerable and brave enough to show how strong we can be when we all get together to create a message of solidarity and love.

Step 1: Download the Backing Track

Step 2: Record yourself singing the chorus

Phone camera is more than good enough - use what you have, however you're comfortable. Please wear headphones so I can only hear your voice, NOT the backing track (that's important!). Then, sing along for as much of it as you can - three words; "We Are Warriors". Here is an example of me singing along, explaining what I need from participants:

Step 3: Send it to me

The "Deadline" is Thursday 6th August 2026 (to be in the music video)

Option A: post it publicly (if you’d like to share your participation and help spread the word):

  • Post your video on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube with the hashtag #WeAreCancerWarriors and a link to this page for others who want to join in
    • (You can share a public version with my backing track audible or your own, but PLEASE make sure to send me a copy with ONLY the voice, no backing track, no added effects or reverb)
  • Then email the link to your post to cancerwarriors@jazzastudios.com so we definitely don’t miss it

Option B: send it privately

  • Upload your video to Dropbox or Google Drive
  • Email the download link to cancerwarriors@jazzastudios.com
  • Important: set the sharing settings to “anyone with the link” can view/download, so we can grab your video without requesting access
  • IF you're particularly shy or nervous, just let me know and I'll happily keep you further in the background and surround you with other warriors so you don't have to stand out too much - it's more than enough that you're being brave enough to join in! Every voice counts!

PLEASE NOTE, by submitting a video, you give me permission to use your footage in my music video. I intend to produce it into a good enough song to release on spotify so it can be shared with other warriors - all money made from this project will be donated towards cancer research. Please only include people who are happy to appear.

Thank you for being brave with me. At the very least, we'll make something beautiful and encouraging together, and prove we can be brave together - and beyond, that, we might stand a chance to have a real positive impact together.
